– Warren Beatty looking cool as a cat in the ‘75 movie about a charismatic and womanizing Beverly Hills hairdresser. The farcical story sees George Roundy tearing around Rodeo Drive & Sunset Boulevard on a purebred Tiger.

– a pair of Tiger Cubs waiting to be rescued. Hopefully not too much effort into a complete restoration; just enough for roadworthyness.

– once upon a time the third page of the biggest selling tabloid in the UK was a daily topless exposure. Samantha Fox was one of the most prominent in the eighties. Until she started a singing career…

– a perfect place for the elusive alpine feline bike. Wide glacial alluvial plains between craggy snow class spires. What a journey that would be.

Sid James (1913-1976) – hairdresser from Johannesburg, though he also claimed a boxer, diamond cutter and dance tutor, became one of the most recognized comedy actors in the UK with the double-entendred Carry-On film. Starring in 19 of them his dirty laugh became synonymous with seaside postcard humour. To celebrate his birthday I found this image of on a Honda Monkey CT-70 on Brighton Pier.

– period snap of a yellow shirted teen with his new, at the time, Triumph T20 Tiger Cub.

Speeder Bike – Moon of Endor
– the first time I saw this chase scene in the movie theater back in ‘83 I was blown away. You were flung through the forest at breakneck speed as if you were aboard with Luke & Leia.

Morning Dust
– tearing off into the high desert trail. There’s nothing like riding under the fresh early morning light. Especially if the destination is some wilderness backwater.

– at a fill-up just north of Milwaukee I spotted a pup wandering around the gas station. Looking for the owner I spied a sign on Mart’s window. “I live here. My name is Diesel” when getting a quick coffee I asked the attendant how old the old boy was. “Quite old” came the reply. “And he’s the second Diesel!”

WI Route 42
– quality light from the west as the sun sank over the Dairyland. The road ahead always beckons.

– an overnight trip to the northern parts of Door County was undertaken. Cool but nice clear light on the way up last evening with a deep blue lake on the right and the occasional sunset illuminated barn. Camped on the beach and returned back along the Green Bay side of the peninsula. A nice 560 mile leg stretch.
