– took a quick spin up the coast. The temperatures were ideal and a fresh breeze off the lake kept proceedings comfortable. The water had a beautiful turquoise hue against the clear blue sky.

– my journey home from work this week has included a couple of evening diversions along the shopping district of Michigan Avenue. The canyon of skyscrapers includes the tapering behemoth of John Hancock and the warm stone spire of the Water Tower.
– what a cute couple getting ready for two-wheeled adventure. Let’s go hun!
– though it’s hot in slow traffic, it’s been great to be hauling down lake Shore Drive to work this week. A bit of snarled traffic near Grant Park where Lollapalooza is being set up.
– two-wheel commuting today. A minor detour around The Loop following the River to Michigan Avenue. A canyon of architecture.
– planning on some summer commuting mikes so I need to park the Tiger in our small yard. Locked to the house wall and covered.
– a pretty black standard bike spied on a street near work today. This big Honda was introduced ten years ago as a basic big motorcycle. Gentleman qualities in a tuxedo finish.
– if you grew up in Britain in the Seventies you would surely remember the children’s sci-fi tv show The Tomorrow People. I watched episode 1 last night and happened upon these pair of cockney thugs who were chasing the teenage telepaths on BSA bikes. Nostalgia.
Under the Hawthorn
– a quick pit stop in a Forest Preserve. The woodland had been cleared of its understory so good filtered views through the dappled shade from the canopy was enjoyed.
– Gorillaz bassist Murdoc Niccals gets up to no good street art in this body art scene.
– a good place to view the world from when scooting around the lanes, roads and highways.
– temperatures in the 70’s and a light breeze off the Lake gave us a splendid ride through Lake County. A couple of unexplored roads that led back to bucolic farm scenes gave us a delightful few miles of riding.
It’s always so special when you find these compositions through leafy frames to elegant farmsteads.
