Red Bob

White Wall

Rigid with springy saddle. But a tooth rattler no doubt. Bright fire engine red and Hunt mag’d ignition. Long smooth roads through the high desert. Not for urban pothole rich streets.

What a memory!

Mahout with Motorcycle

Nellie says just strap ‘er on and I’ll get you through the jungle to your destination. An Indian with an Indian being carried by an Indian elephant. Adventure awaits!

Cafe Gals

Two Fair Ladies

On a swift bike. A proud Triumph owner was obviously persuaded to let these lasses have their photo taken sitting on his pride and joy. They both have a cheeky smile to the camera and I’ll bet are as thick as thieves when making plans for the weekend.

‘Gin

Liter Lump

Sweet power from the classic in-line four from Kawasaki. Engineering art if there is such a thing.

Black ‘n’ White

February Flier

Spotted by Dean yesterday in Chicago. A slight warm-up sees this rider out and about on a nicely fettled Bonneville. Short pipes and wide wire laced wheels are the business. Bud needs a lid to replace his baseball cap.

Man Activated by Compu-puncture Hyperpower

John Probe

A direct ripoff of the Six Million Dollar Man was introduced in 2000AD. A secret agent with computer brain implants strengthened by acupuncture. Wizard boffins in MI6! Here he chases a terrorist riding a Triumph Trident. Hmm, the belligerent is firing the Uzi with his throttle hand.

2000AD

Comic Creation

46 years ago today this published collection of futuristic stories burst onto the newsagents shelves. I was just 6 at the time but the fabulous artwork was an amazing feature that I loved looking at. Dan Dare, Flesh, Invasion, MACH 1, and the Harlem Heroes. Joined by Judge Dredd in Prog 2. I still have the early profs; now threadbare after numerous readings.

Long Legged

Capt’n Blighty

Some special treatment to this Triumph. The Acme custom parts catalogue was ransacked to fettle this beauty. Of its time.

Double espresso venti

English Graffiti

Gotta love this Triumph Thruxton! Their Colombian bean cafe racer. The promotional photos taken in LA give it the urban looks it deserves.

Pen & Wash

Dampf-Kraft-Wagen

Steam Driven Car – aka Das Kleine Wunder — “the little marvel”. Not my work but of an I’ll that I a drawn to (excuse the pun!)

El Tigre awakens

With the temperatures in the mid fifties I decided to grab a quick spin up north through the Skokie lagoons. Nice to be in the saddle and running along at a healthy clip through the trees. Certainly cobweb clearing activity.

HB

Triton in pencil

Glorious drawing by artist Colin Murdoch of this classic cafe racer borne from a Triumph pre-unit engine married to a Norton featherbed frame.

Cannes

Sidesaddle Elegance

Another photo of the gorgeous Ms Welch being taken care of by local motorcycle gendarmerie at the ‘66 Cannes film festival.

One Million Years

The Fantastic Voyage

One of the twentieth century’s sex symbols, Raquel Welch, passed away today aged 82. Known for her furry bikini outfit that she wore in One Million Years BC then featured on a poster adorning many teenage boys walls – later used to cover Andy Dufresne’s cell wall escape hole. “Time and Pressure”. She’s looking darn purdy on this vintage motorcycle.

Heart and Soul

Happy Valentine

Lo! Young we are and yet have stood
like planted hearts in the great Sun
of Love so long (as two fair trees
in woodland or in open dale
stand utterly entwined and breathe
the airs and suck the very light
together) that we have become
as one, deep rooted in the soil
of Life and tangled in the sweet growth.

JRR Tolkien
