Golden Years | after torrential rain yesterday this morning awoke under crystal clear blue skies. This enabled further enjoyment of the colors that accentuate fall. Cool temperatures very first thing allowed me to use the grip warmers….

Down the Road Whenever | more two-wheel visuals of Mark Knopfler in his new video for “Good on you son”, a piece of music from his latest album. It looks like an updated unit Triumph. Sunny roads. Perfect scenery for his subtle music style.

Friday’s Femme Fatale | shuttered store fronts with graffiti scrawl provides a gritty backdrop to this confident lass on an old Triumph. Glittering fuchsia helmet adds to the glamour of women bikers.

Brothers in Arms | 80’s supergroup Dire Straits was fronted by guitarist maestro Mark Knopfler. As well as a love of the creation of music he has also had a lifelong keen interest in motorcycles. This black Honda VFR is a smart looking steed.

Highway Patrol | The City of Evanston’s police department has shiny new scooters. Fully kitted Beemer ready to light the blues and twos and apprehend speeders on Ridge Avenue, where the speed limit is 25mph. Very smart looking hauler.

Shady Dealings | the new helmet with internal tinted visor came in handy during the weekend jaunt under the lowering autumn sun. The Bluetooth headset connected to my iPhone music was an added touch.

Crated Glory | spied at the Russell Military Museum near Kenosha WI is this spotless wartime Harley Davidson WLA. It was just the tip of the iceberg… acres of tanks, aircraft, helicopters, armored personnel carriers… fascinating place.

Autumnal Hues | good ride through the changing colors of a Midwest October. It got quite warm (70°F) at times but the air was refreshing.

Chequered Group | Sunny smiles under a Californian sky. More of the Hockie clan after an H&H race. The sled looks like it’s had fun in the dry sand and dirt.

Tired Out Triumph! Where there’s a will…. here is Hare ‘n’ Hounds racer supremo Charlie Hockie in the SoCal desert after an equipment mishap. Charlie was a contemporary of Brothers Bud & Dave Ekins.

Kiwi Biker | cool photo from the sixties of local gang taking kids for rides in southeastern New Zealand.

LEGO – a couple of building brick models, one a Triumph Scrambler and the other a beefy Triumph Rocket Three. Both nicely done.

Factory Floor | journalistic photograph from the mid-seventies on the assembly line at Meriden. This was when the workers had a sit-in and production ground to a halt. A guttering flame.

Stand Up | One thing the Tiger didn’t come with was a centerstand. Handy for lubricating the chain; makes tire changing a simpler task; and useful for changing the oil. The latter of which I’ll be carrying out soon for the first service. So today I acquired a purposeful stand that allows me to get the bike upright and off its rear wheel. 40 bucks at Harbor Freight. It’s certainly a handy addition to the workshop!
