Straddled Strider – Proud owner and his cafe’d Triumph. Nice monochrome portrait perfect narrow depth of field and crisp focusing of subject. It looks like my bike, with big tank, however the twin disc forks and bum-stop seat are added extras.

X-75 Redux – Here’s a good looking beast: a nineties 900 triple revisioned in the punchy orange and yellow color scheme used by Craig Vetter on the mud seventies 750 Trident.

Bell ‘n’ Whistles – my nephew Marcus saw this beaut in Minneapolis earlier today. So being a diligent blogger assistant captured a photo… Thruxton with all the goodies. In red too. Lovely.

Tank Art – some cafe youth look on whilst the steadiest hand puts the finishing touches to a mammoth tank for their Triumph Norton hybrid.

Three Twins and a Triple – let’s close the week off with this clutch of Hinckley goodies. The new cafe 900 Street Cup in bumblebee yellow striping and black engine cases certainly looked the part. A pearly tanked Speed Triple sitting like a repose cat ready to strike its prey. ‘Hard tail’ Bobber sits low and purposeful (I felt a bit cramped on it) ready to customize with a catalogue full of eye candy. Finally the sublime Thruxton in ‘Go-Faster’ red: I could look at this all day…
For some reason I didn’t take any photos of the Tigers… the 800 seems to be the most practical bike out there.

Built like a Gun – or so their advertising header says. Now from the sub-continent, these classic singles look like they hark from the fifties; but with modern day build. Some polished models with pinstripe details, others in olive drab military garb. The single-minded cafe racer Continental GT certainly looked that part too. All still have their kick-starts as standard too!

Customs Officer – there were some superlative one-off builds at the show. Here are a couple of period Triumph bobbers in similar style yet very different execution. One has a brushed finish, luscious tank paint, open primary case, and a Jow Hunt magneto for spark. The other was polished to a mirrored finish – nearly to the point of distraction- with a sublime red flake frame paint job. All great work though.

Tickler – every classic bike owner knows this procedure: petrol tap open; push in the carburetor tickler to enrich the bowls and fuelling; whiff of throttle; then a healthy hoof of the kick-starter. Here’s a gauntlet donned rider of the fairer sex carrying out such a start-up. Nice Photo from a Japanese rocker outfit.

Racing Trim – fiery tress’d lass aboard a slim trim Triumph racer. She just needs some snug boots, soft gloves and a sporting daubed helmet to reign in the carmine locks.

Amber & Teal – there is a movie makers technique where strong orange and blue coloration is used to evoke a certain edginess. Here’s a link to an in depth discussion of this color correcting http://theabyssgazes.blogspot.com/2010/03/teal-and-orange-hollywood-please-stop.html?m=1

Thruxton – of all the delicious motorcycles gathered together on Sunday the tastiest was the be Thruxton. It just looks superb and talking to some owners rides superb too. Someone had a British Racing Green color scheme that was sublime… But I do like the rocket-red one.

TBT – I know that less than a week has passed since the weekend ride, but some other people’s photos of the day are better ng published. I found a couple with me zooming by… Well that’s just neat!
