Zooming through the City here’s a white Triumph Tiger owner haring through South Rogers Park along Sheridan Road. I was heading home when I spied it.

Fella ridin’ his aped Hog along Lake Shore Drive. Patches covering his jacket and regulatory safety ponytail.

Spring weather on a Sunday means “let’s get the bikes oot!” Oil change then a spin north to Lake Bluff for a coffee and scone. Many bikers were out too!
“Ooh. Stop!
With your feet on the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah”

Spotted by Dean yesterday in Chicago. A slight warm-up sees this rider out and about on a nicely fettled Bonneville. Short pipes and wide wire laced wheels are the business. Bud needs a lid to replace his baseball cap.

The poster for this years biker and band gathering in Chicago. A couple of streets in the Fulton Market district closed down for a long weekend for open air noise with Mods and Rockers. Something to look forward to! Be there or be square!

Another good find in the City yesterday. This was a Kawasaki 500 that some student at the University of Chicago must use as their runaround. I had one similar to this when I lived in London. Great twin engine powering a very useable bike. EX500 in the ‘States, GPZ500R in the UK

Spied on my walk from the office yesterday. Someone’s Triumph parked on a mid landing at a building entry. Keeping it warm in the chilly January Chicago days.

Marvelous autumnal ride to a State Park south of the City. A good 200+ miler through cityscapes, rolling cornfields, and coloring woods. Old bascule bridges and the penitentiary in Joliet, hawks aloft over the River bluffs. Splendid!

My commute home took me along Wacker Drive that follows the Chicago River through the towering architecture of downtown Chicago. Setting sun light warms the upper floors of the Tribune Tower behind me.

Lucky parking spot directly outside of the office in the West Loop. Friday traffic on the way home was slow and backed up. Otherwise a nice spin along LSD.

– another year volunteering as a member of the support team who carry race officials around the bike course. Looking for rule infractions such as drafting, earbud use, riding on the right ( the right is only for passing). A few CPD bikes were present on their shiny Harleys. It was a sharp start with a 5am meet for volunteer coordination.

The Tiger looking sharp against a nice green car. The RAF roundel befitting the natural hue. Overcast and drizzly ride to Zion. Nice greasy combo breakfast at Emily’s. Fresh coffee, eggs over easy, and pancakes.

Enjoying the commute. My company has parking in a nearby ramp which is very convenient to take the Tiger down LSD (aka Jean Baptiste Point du Sable Lake Shore Drive). I came home via the Adler Planetarium promontory, which offers a marvelous view back to the City.

I took a quick stop at the Lakefront on my way home. The City skyline touching the waters edge with water whipping around under a half cloudy sky.

Taking the curve on Sheridan Road as it passes the seminary college on the lakefront. This lad is enjoying the sunset turn-in on his nineties black Triumph.
