Spied just off Michigan Avenue under a towering Sears Tower this colorful scoot sits waiting for some art college hipster to zing off through the urban grid.

– Bike running just great. Windscreen ideal to keep a cool lakefront air off me. Cup of coffee in Waukegan. Roads fairly quiet.

finally able to get the Tiger onto the road today. Temperatures in the low fifties and blue blue heavens. The Lake echoed a classic Caribbean azure along the North Shore. New knobbly tires and clear tall windscreen were a treat. Short mulch path off road was transverse with ease.

– spied on Lake Shore Drive on my way into work today. A well used V-Strom carrying its owner into the City. The decal clad top box says this rider means business in urban traffic.

– nice afternoon ride up through Lake County. Low stretched shadows across the road ahead. Leaf offering hints of autumn.

– behind a dirt bike owner on Lake Shore Drive. Hopefully it came home muddy.

A swing-by the planetarium to get the classic Chicago architectural backdrop. LSD was a mess but the view was worth it.

We were behind this van coming home along the lakefront. Good range of 70’s band names.

– an early Sunday saw me in Grant Park at 5am to meet with the others in the motorcycle crew for this year’s Triathlon. Again, I ferried Oli the photographer around the course to allow him to capture the athletes. Mostly loops up Lake Shore Drive, but also rode along the busway, a secretive road between the Illinois Center and McCormick, and some sections of the south lakefront trail to see the runners. Nice team and splendid weather.

I needed to park the Tiger on the street today. The garage was closed off due to Greek-fest. The green cat-bike looked cool in front of the vintage brickwork and under a dappled tree canopy.

… over The Magnificent Mile. Nice detour along this prominent street from the River north to the Lake.

– I took a slight detour on my way home for a lakefront view back to the City. Hot here – in the nineties. The Navy jets have been practicing over the skyline today.

– many of the City’s bridges have open metal decks. It makes the tires a little squirrelly, and you can see the water below. But they’re used effectively for the many bascule bridges through Chicago.
