Sadly one of the original action women of the silver screen died today. Honor Blackman who, in my opinion, is the definitive Bond girl. She played opposite Sean Connery in Goldfinger with perfect grace and grit. She started a life on two wheels as a dispatch rider during WW2 in London. She was 94.

– Marlon Brando has a cheeky grin in this promotional photo of the ‘53 move The Wild One. Weekend at last! MB was born on this day in 1924.

– imagery by Italian graphic designer, and latter Olivetti chief designer, Marcelo Nizzoli from 1925 for Fabrique National F/N – Belgian arms manufacturers who also built motorcycles. A smooth ride indeed if the pillion lady can put on her lipstick whilst the shadowy rider tears along the lanes of Flanders

Pillion – life is so much more fun with a companion to share the adventure with.

Friday night was typically late night horror films on my 6” B&W TV. Under the bed sheets with a mono headphone I’d watch such classics as Dracula or the Wolfman. here our Friday lady on a bobbed classic Triumph in a graveyard… in monochrome.

Rockers! Evocative photography of a ton-up boy taking off on his cafe’d ride. (The photo is actually a contemporary scene made to look period: the swing arm of the bike to the rear left has a hefty tire and matching swingarm)

Though it were ten thousand mile | Accomplished tattoo artist Tracey Rose loves her Triumph Bonneville. Her ink work is a mixture of sublime color work and exemplary black line with grey shading work. Go to her shop to see examples of her artistry.

Blowing Bubbles | awesome sketch by Elsa Chang of some lass laying back sending soap bubbles into the sky. The grey wash with brushed ink work is fluid and inspired.

Snow in the forecast | winter is finally arriving here in the Midwest so let’s put our thoughts to the warmer days of summer.

Binge | we just spent the past couple of evenings watching both seasons of the outstanding tragi-comedy Fleabag. Created by, and starring as the titular character the talented Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Towards the end of one of the episodes she’s given a helmet by her on-off boyfriend then they roll away on a Triumph down some London Street.

Seventh | in the late eighties we were up to regeneration number eight for The Doctor. Sylvester McCoy was the Time Lord and his sidekick Mel by the 70’s child star Bonnie Langford. When the Tardis is parked up they can tear around aboard a beautiful Vincent combination.

Vida | Actress Roberta Colindrez as Nico tears it up around East LA on this black Bonnie in the latest TV offering on Starz. Nicely composed image.

The Doctor | Jodie Whittaker returns as the Time Lord from Gallifrey in the latest season of chronological shenanigans. The trailer sees her racing through a vineyard on a large bike. A far cry from the temperamental Tardis.
“A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.” – The Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) The Time Warrior (1973)
