– organizing some photos I came across a couple of old photos from the SLR film era. My Kawasaki used to commute in London (top), and my 900 Ninja used in Chicago. Both terrific machines.

Rail crossing on a back road leading to Lake Michigan. Very pleasant riding conditions that I would hope to continue well into Fall.

In 1913, 14 year old Louis Abernathy and his 10 year old brother Temple rode their motorcycle from Oklahoma to New York City.

Motorcycle racer, engineer and innovator Howard R Davies sits proudly on his sleek powerful 350cc machine. HRD went on to become Vincent and the rest is history.

– Olive Oler, the first woman to be seen riding her BSA motorcycle around Casper WY 1343 S. McKinley St., 1956 . A nice A7 Shooting Star

– Antique bike; ceramics in tall display case; bronze cat; and Terry O’Neill photograph.

– on our road trip through Iowa we stopped in at this impressive collection of motorcycles. Here is a selection of engines spanning 7 decades. More to follow this week!

– I had to go and visit a new project site today. So I took the Tiger for a spin up Sheridan Road along the Lake. Turning off a small lane took me through a quiet corner of the northern suburbs in true rustic fashion. The overcast sky and splash of rain only enhanced the turning colors.

The golden rays of a morning light glows on the Tigers engine. Rarin’ to go…

Like some desolate sun bleached scene from a Sam Peckinpah film.

– an early Sunday saw me in Grant Park at 5am to meet with the others in the motorcycle crew for this year’s Triathlon. Again, I ferried Oli the photographer around the course to allow him to capture the athletes. Mostly loops up Lake Shore Drive, but also rode along the busway, a secretive road between the Illinois Center and McCormick, and some sections of the south lakefront trail to see the runners. Nice team and splendid weather.

– it was probably tricky to hold up that placard.
