Light Emitting Diode – swapped out my incandescent bulbs for low wattage high output LEDs today. Nice and bright with less draw off the battery; so now I can put a brighter halogen main beam in.

Midweek Musings – September is the cusp of seasonal change when the balance of the summer heat begins to give way to a cooler autumn. Green abounds, hints of golden or red leaves, clear skies of fresh air. Enjoying rides during this time with a good running Triumph feeds the soul like an elixir.

Favorite Roads – talking about the PCH yesterday inspired me to have a quick spin along a local road with sweeping corners. No Pacific sharing the curves, just some lagoons. But hey, you gotta get it where you can!

Balmy evening – another cracking run on a late summer night through the leafy suburbs of the affluent North Shore. Quiet roads with none of the sluggish day or weekend traffic. An odd maple tree is turning color.

White Van – the US precursor to the Transit: Ford Econoline. Ideal road trip conveyance in which you could haul your Moto to SoCal for the winter and enjoy the surf whilst basing yourself on the road. Nice immaculate late 60’s Bonnie too.

Naught to Sixty – half of a decent Lzbor Day weekend ride earlier today. However the electrical gremlins woke up 40 mile out. Cut short Lake Geneva destination and sauntered back without lights. Nothing a strip of black tape can’t fix…

Evening Ride – a truly pleasant venture up north as the dusk settled into dark. Scent of trees wafting across the road and peeping cateyes define the winding road ahead. Bike was running like the proverbial top.

Nose Art Tattoo – Bonneville Belle takes the saddle on this graphic trackster steed. Looks ready enough to be emblazoned across the fuselage of a B-17 Flying Fortress.

Sitting up like some sixties supermodel the Bonnie can be as eye catching as an exposure through David Bailey’s Nikon F-2. The engine fins are like Twiggy’s fluttering eyelashes.

The Bonnie looked quite splendid in the sun yesterday. Running quite well and handles the road with aplomb. Mad Dogs & Englishmen ‘n’ all that!

Black ‘n’ White – clouds in greys, blue skies in black and a road of dappled texture. A couple of hours spin cleared the cobwebs and recharged a summer heat-worn psyche.

Put finishing touches to my bike work ramp. Made from mostly found scraps it lets me raise the Moto a couple of feet to carry out maintenance without crawling around on my knees. Starting to line up the off-season list of work: replace slipping clutch plates, replace oil lines, oil cooler… But, hey, it’s still only July! Plenty of riding to do yet!

Triptych – sequence of movement: one, two, three. Fun with overlays and composition to evoke a sense of speed along the road.

Saturday morning ride – crisp 60’s weather and light traffic for a splendid jaunt up through the northern suburbs. The three mile stretch along the Skokie Lagoons offered an opportune moment for a photo stop.
