Pegasus – the flying horse. A beautifully embroidered denim jacket by a fine handed needlesmith Lillian Davis. Apparently she had this painted on her Triumpg petrol tank too.

Cover up! This would be a neat tarp for the Bonnie. A red bike cover with the marque logo emblazened across it.

Mad Dogs- the weather is hot and humid, far too muggy for my constitution. A northern bloke needs overcast 50’s. Pity it wasn’t dry heat like the SoCal desert. Steve knows how to enjoy the heat: ride a Triumph desert sled!

The Mouse that Roared! Kids love a good story of adventure and action whereby the underdog makes good. This classic tale of a rodent on his red ride is much loved by the bairns.

Children’s drawings, cartoon sketches and a movie.
I particularly love this book cover with a delicate illustration of mouse and moto! The motorcycle looks like a Triumph Thunderbird.

Action Figure – on Monday past we saw the real Daryl Dixon stoking his Triumph chopper in search of the undead. Today is the ultra detailed ‘collector’ toy in poseable form with well defined bike components and machinery.

Daryl Dixon – anti hero, expert tracker and Walker killer on the legend AMC show The Walking Dead. Played by Norman Reedus his transport in a post apocalyptic world is a Triumph chopper; probably what mine would have ended up looking like if it wasn’t liberated from the biker gang in West Chicago.

Kashmir – one of the jewels of the Indian Crown. Flower heavy valleys with tea fed villages amidst soaring mountains dappled in an icy grip. Ideal ground to take an old Triumph or, even better, a Royal Enfield. One of my dream journeys.

A new Prime Minister was announced today back in blighty. After all the political shenanigans of the last couple of weeks where the population voted to leave the European Union and those that laid the way have jumped ship then a new leader was seen to be the best option… Good luck everyone in the UK… You’re gonna need it!

Amazing Intricacy – a well used motorcycle workshop in miniature. As well as moto’s being worked on there are shelves of parts, walls of tools, machinery, posters and a cursing mechanic.

So much detail to explore, you can smell the oily workings or metallic contrivances. Even a corrugated roofing. I bet the Whitworth set is articulated too!

Three by Three: a grid of Triumph vignettes from the recent Motoblot show. Old and new, fast and slow, chrome and color. Just love looking at the details

Thruxton Thursday – together with wax masters Barbour International, Triumph Motorcycles D&O Customs created a real road racer from the apparent superlative twin moto. It’s called BIT2 and in silver, black and gold looks a rear hoot!
Here’s a video of its creation:

A few more images to share highlighting the varied vitality of the Motoblot scene. Choppers, custom engines and saddles, gams on the go and hotrods. Oh, and not to mention motorcycles. Look out for that picnic basket laden Moto Guzzi scooter!

“It’s for you hoo!” Or so they said back in the eighties when selling off British Telecom. Well let’s take the Way Back machine a little further to enjoy a big tire’d Triumph flat tracker a la Gary Nixon. “appelle-moi mon cherie!”
