IV III II I

These four motorcycles were sat at one corner of the car show: somewhat eclipsed by the British cars on display but in their own right can stand alone as classic vehicles of blighty. The first is a wonderfully sorted Triton, combination of Norton featherbed frame and Triumph pre-unit motor. The big Manx tank and clip-ons hints at both marques racing history.

Here’s a clean Norton Commando, great roadster of the seventies.

A contemporary Triumph next, this one a Thruxton… A machine within my reach: perhaps some day!

Lastly, but NOT leastly, the sublime Vincent Black Lightning 1953. Words escape me when looking upon motorcycle perfection… So let’s just look…

The Demon’s Ride

image

This fair’d, sleek iteration of a Vincent Black Lightning will do a ton and a half easily, remember in stock trim it could make 150mph. What do you call a pair of Vincent’s?

Magic!
The iconic, and highly desirable, v twin powerhouses are a sight to behold. The motorcycles motorcycle… So when two appear parked next to each other like a pair of prize pugilists, then it’s a sight to behold. The front one has the carefully updated front end utilizing a pair of disc brakes: appropriate for that bicep of a litre ‘gin.

Streamlining

Rollie Free stripped down to his bathing trunks to reach 150 mph at The Salt on The Vincent; creating one of the most iconic motorcycle images. Is this a way to achieve speed on a Bonnie 750? This slim gal is assuming so.

…heres the Vincent photo…
