– when my current set of original tires need changing I’m going for boots with more bite.

– old pic from a bygone era. Vincent owner sits proudly with a lucky young lad on the corner of Brevitt Road and Wanderers Avenue in the Midland city of Wolverhampton. The penny loafers with trousers tucked into the socks are quite a look. Probably just going to pop down to get some milk for the tea…

– more rugged undertakings, as seems to have been the theme this week, with a purposeful alleyway machine. The whiff of green contrasts pleasantly with the gritty red brick wall behind.

– cleaner than a clock; a rather splendid oil-in-frame Triumph with ruby tank and polished cases. The light bronze frame is a special touch.

– knobbly boots ready to stroll along a country hedgerow. Chasing the hare.

– woodland warrior, sand dune destroyer, green lane gobbler. A sweet six course meal of a rugged Moto straining at the reins looking for an adventure.

[explaining why there’s a light bulb in his mouth] “Oh, the children persuaded me to light up and ride my cycle around, just for old time’s sake.”
Mortician: “We love to watch him ride his motorcycle in the house.”
Gomez: “And wrestle the alligator.”
Thaddeus Logan: “Wrestle… the alligator? A LIVE alligator?”
Gomez: “Not very sporting wrestling a dead one.”

– it would be great to take the Tiger along a gravel road amidst snow clad peaks. Like where this 1200 Tiger’s owner has taken theirs. Wilderness destination.

– picking my car up from the mechanic this week I spied a thirty years old Suzuki 1100. Detuned GSX-R Slighshot engine was given a low maintenance shaft drive and relaxed seating to created a daily rider. This idea was continued in the very popular Bandit model range. Good sting bikes.

– the purrfect rider has whiskers, striped fur and green eyes. C’mon let’s go!

– I enjoyed the company of this gold colored Buick LeSabre down Lake Shore Drive this morning. Or to give the Highway it’s full new name Jean Baptiste Point DuSable LSD.

We took an inner city tour of Chicago today riding the 100 year old tree lined historic Boulevard system. From Jackson and Washington Park in the south; along Garfield and Western; past Sherman, Gage and McKinley Park; through Douglas, Garfield and Humboldt Parks; then through Logan Square, it offers a great cross section through Chicago. The gilt Statue of the Republic, located in Jackson Park, erected in 1918, is a golden reminder of the 1893 World’s Colombian Exposition.

– took a quick spin up the coast. The temperatures were ideal and a fresh breeze off the lake kept proceedings comfortable. The water had a beautiful turquoise hue against the clear blue sky.

– my journey home from work this week has included a couple of evening diversions along the shopping district of Michigan Avenue. The canyon of skyscrapers includes the tapering behemoth of John Hancock and the warm stone spire of the Water Tower.

– what a cute couple getting ready for two-wheeled adventure. Let’s go hun!
