– imagine being on call as a recovery service in a snowstorm. Your bright yellow combination is your transportation. Heavy winter clothes and a barn door fairing to protect you from the elements. The Automobile Association had to get out through rain, snow or shine. My grandfather George must surely have experienced these conditions as an AA Man.

– with a soft sonorous voice, actor John Le Mesurier played all rolls in a carefree effortless manner. His most noted part was that of Sgt. Arthur Wilson in the 70’s BBC comedy Dad’s Army. The ideal foil against Arthur Lowe’s pompous and blustering Captain Mainwaring.

– popularly known as Captain Tom, was a British Army officer and centenarian, known for his achievements raising $45 million for charity in the run-up to his 100th birthday during the COVID-19 pandemic by walking 100 laps around his garden. He passed away today from COVID-19, complicated by pneumonia. He had surely made it clear that you’re never to old to make a difference.

– I’ve started following the Instagram page of a young German RTW biker Martin Klauka who, four years ago, was joined by a tuxedo colored cat he named Mogli. He celebrates her birthday on January 29th (today) and has so far travelled from Europe through the Middle East to India.
