Welcome back.. hope all went well for you both. I don’t think I asked where you were flying home from~ and landing at Chicago.?
I have that very book, signed by him. You would have liked him, a very nice chap with a very interesting life.. For a while throughout the 1970’s he was UK importer for both Ducati and Moto Guzzi brands. His mantra then was, if you want a sports bike get a Ducati 900SS, but if you want comfort and speed with reliability, get a Guzzi Le Mans.
Ducati V twins of the period were notoriously fragile, expensive to correct with uncertain spares supply, and it was that which made him step away from the franchises. Not happy days for him.
Sadly, he is no longer with us, but if you look out for his books you will find jewels in print.
