The cover of his 1969 album, featuring some great road-trip music, has an open fronted frilly fuchsia colored shirt-wearing Arlo on his Triumph Trophy. Stealin’ is a great number, as is Comin’ into Los Angeles. Other personnel on the record include Byrd men Clarence White and Gene Parsons, as well as slide guitar maestro Ry Cooder.

Currently showing on Netflix is Wednesday. A version of the creepy family from the perspective of the teenage daughter in the titular role. Jenna Ortega plays the role in perfect razor sharp somber mood. Uncle Fester has an appearance too. Here Fester and Wednesday hare around on a BMW rig – Fred Armisen as the bald relative.

Long live Punk! Dame Vivienne Westwood (1941-2022) passed away yesterday. Heralding the punk scene in 70’s London, along with Malcolm McLaren (r), for a disenfranchised youth who needed a music and fashion scene to reflect the counterculture lifestyle they were exploring . As well as safety pins, ripped t-shirts, tartan and outspoken graphics, the leather biker jacket was also utilized.
“You’ve got to invest in the world, you’ve got to read, you’ve got to go to art galleries, you’ve got to find out the names of plants. You’ve got to start to love the world and know about the whole genius of the human race. We’re amazing people.”

My earliest football memory is watching the great Brazilian player Pelé fly gracefully across a pitch and seem to magically transform the ball into a floating orb. He was a champion for the sport and a global ambassador for sportsmanship. I found a couple of magazine advertisements in Portuguese for a Honda 125, which I’m sure was sold by the stadium load in that country. Soichiro Honda is seen with Pelé in the center image. Brazil became a major manufacturing location for the smaller Hondas.

The latest “Knives out” offering from Rian Johnson sees Daniel Craig as the southern gentleman master detective Benoit Blanc. A quick motorcycle cameo has Dave Bautista arriving to the dock on a Triumph Rocket. The bike is suitably scaled for the big framed Mr Bautista.

Māori Moto. Here’s Les Elmer’s renovated ‘29 BSA. Coming up to its centenary in a few years and looking good for it!

Quick sketch of an early seventies Bonnie. Perhaps I might add a little wad of color.

Todays scribble is an X75 Triumph. Craig Vetter’s custom roadster for the Meriden triple engine. Curvilinear orange lines.

Trying some more quickfire thumbnails in my sketchbook. Color daubs and black pen linework.

Scout across the veldt. Lovely poster for Indian Motorcycles in the low lying country of Holland. Smashing graphics.

It’s tough but I gotta do it:
1. Diana Rigg (Tracy Bond) OHMSS
2. Honor Blackman (Pussy Galore) Goldfinger
3. Lucian’s Paluzzi (Fiona Volpe) Thunderball
