“What are they in it for, these old hoodlums, these layabouts in lace?”
Just one of countless laughs from Python Terry Jones who passed away today. Along with Chapman, Cleese, Gilliam, Idle and Palin; the absurdist British humor was infectious.
“Pension day’s the worst – they go mad. As soon as they get their hands on their money they blow it all on milk, bread, tea, tin of meat for the cat.“

First Spread | Prog 2 March 5 1977. This is when Judge Dredd burst out of the page on his Lawmaster. Fine illustration by the unmatchable Carlos Ezquerra, who created the original look of the Judge’s, though the remainder of the strips pages were drawn by Mick McMahon who was to further refine the Dredd look over the following couple of years.

Black ‘n’ White | neat graphic of the classic per-unit engine from the late fifties. It would make a cool tee-shirt.

Walden Wanderin’
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms…
Henry David Thoreau

Adventure Percussionist | Rush drummer Neil Peart recently passed away. His contribution to music is legendary. He was also an avid long distance motorcyclist covering countless miles between concerts and later journeys of introspective exploration. His autobiography Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road a haunting memoir of self rediscovery.

Binge | we just spent the past couple of evenings watching both seasons of the outstanding tragi-comedy Fleabag. Created by, and starring as the titular character the talented Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Towards the end of one of the episodes she’s given a helmet by her on-off boyfriend then they roll away on a Triumph down some London Street.
