Beautiful drawing of a classic Triumph engine. Quite special.

Beautiful drawing of a classic Triumph engine. Quite special.

Sparsely equipped BSA ready for the fields and dirt roads. Of hood and horn you could say.

When a disaster occurs it’s time to call in International Rescue. I’d expect Aloysius Parker, Lady Penelope’s chauffeur, to turn up on it. “Yes M’lady”

– I should find something to get my idle hands onto. A Vincent or Norton looking for a warm workshop. Recovery through Restoration. Apologies for the lack of posts, a few personal issues arose these past few weeks. Hope to get a few things shifting on the Blog soon.

A visit to the premier classic British motorcycle shop in northern Illiniois was also included in the agenda. Always a treat to look over the various items parked shoulder to shoulder in the main display area. The workshop was so busy that bikes awaiting service and restoration work were stood outside.

– Norton badged machine with a swift footed JAP engine. Thick sheepskin pilot jacket essential garb for B road enjoyment.

– the police forces have always utilized the agile flexibility of motorcycles. Triumph was always a stalwart of law enforcement in the UK.

– Olive Oler, the first woman to be seen riding her BSA motorcycle around Casper WY 1343 S. McKinley St., 1956 . A nice A7 Shooting Star

– on our road trip through Iowa we stopped in at this impressive collection of motorcycles. Here is a selection of engines spanning 7 decades. More to follow this week!

– nothing like the thunderous roar of the Vincent Twin. Not even the cacophony of an HD comes near. Pure engineering.

– some Tiger owner took a photo of their grandmother after a ride and added an older snap of her in younger days with a Royal Enfield 125 nearly 70 years prior.

– old pic from a bygone era. Vincent owner sits proudly with a lucky young lad on the corner of Brevitt Road and Wanderers Avenue in the Midland city of Wolverhampton. The penny loafers with trousers tucked into the socks are quite a look. Probably just going to pop down to get some milk for the tea…

– what a cute couple getting ready for two-wheeled adventure. Let’s go hun!

– typically the Vincent is finished in gloss black, but this one has been painted fire engine red. It sets the engine off very well. Like emergency vehicles I bet this would part traffic.
