. And a spot of rain is called for. The extreme heat in the UK and Europe need the cooling effects of inclement weather. Having learned to ride in the rain I’m not shy to get out in the wet. You just need a little extra care on the corners or freshly rained upon roads. This motorcycle covered and parked in the City is ready for action dry or wet.

A light cruiser from Honda’s lineup perched against a city curb. heavy shade from a purple leaves beech tree.

– an adept 400 twin from the Honda stable mid 80’s. This was spied in my ‘hood Rogers Park.

More city snaps of parked motorbikes. This time a lightly customized Triumph Twin sat patiently on a north side Chicago street.

– another urban snap. This time a small size scooter parked near Greentown. Whatever gets you about!

Another urban ‘cycle parked next to the Chicago River near the Merchandise Mart. Skyscrapers reflected off skyscrapers. A smart ruby red Suzuki looks the part.

This continues my series of street side bikes. A bobbed Honda 750 a la noir.

This is always a good ride through the City. Taking a pleasant cruise through the leafy wide roads that connect a series of parks – from Logan Square in the north to Hyde Park in the south. As architect and city planner Daniel Burnham said: “Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men’s blood and probably will not themselves be realized.” Well his 1909 plan for Chicago isn’t little.

– I managed to snap a shot of a pair of bikers hauling up Ashland Avenue. Honda Helix superscooter and Suzuki GS1000.

A chap and his Bonneville on Sheridan Road. Heading home to Rogers Park I was at the red light near Loyola when this dude swerved up.

Smart Soviet-red combination spied today by our intrepid man on the ground, Dean. Solid looking tool for sure!

– Lake Bluff was the nearby destination with grey skies overhead. Project site visit to inspect trees that are going to be transplanted. Good to be on the bike in spring. New sheepskin saddle cover is plush and make you want to ride off into the west.

– interesting advertising on the rear of a box truck along the Interstate in the Chicago suburbs. A rabbit (or is it a hare?) riding a speedy sports bike.
