Quarter Mile

Burnin’ Rubber – classic Ed “Ratfink” Roth pen & ink illustration of a screaming Triumph drag shooting off for a sub ten second run at the strip. Great dimensional logo in speedy perspective and nice smoke detail around the fat rear tire.

Redhead Ready

Racing Trim – fiery tress’d lass aboard a slim trim Triumph racer. She just needs some snug boots, soft gloves and a sporting daubed helmet to reign in the carmine locks.

Morries Place

Tanks a Lot – one of the reasons for scooting about the boonies beyond Chicagoland yesterday was to stop in to see Ed Zender at Morries Place in Ringwood. I enjoy just looking around the place; always interesting British esoterica on hand to ogle. Some of the classic details are just marvellous to peruse: the sunny orange and chrome Victor tank; worn out pinstriping over a sky blue AJS tank; mid century orange scheme on the chrome framed Rickman; and the jewel-like ruby starburst badge on a Lightning. Better than an art gallery for me….

The Girl with the Pearl Earring

Suspenders & Pigtails – Friday’s lass is ready for a countryside cavort. Throttle hand at the ready, eyes waiting for the hare ‘n’ hound race to be commenced. The flat cap might blow off on the first corner mind you!

Tax Disc Aug 71

Flares – the early seventies sure were an interesting time for fashion: Platform boots and bell-bottom trousers. Package holidays at the Costa del Sol; Dad’s Army or On the Buses on the Telly. Decimalization in the wallet, Harvey Smiths V-sign to the Establishment. What better way to venture beyond the Age of Aquarius than on a sturdy Triumph?

Single Moto

Throwback Thursday- here’s an example of the wee 250 Trophy I bought when first arriving in the US back in ’98. Decent tool to scoot about the City, finding my way around, got my US drivers license on it too! About as much power as a wind-up toy; but Lake Shore Drive was mighty fun on it!

Jungle Fever

Soccer Street – another photoshoot with David Beckham wearing cool-guy duds whilst on a South American journey with a couple of mates. Unsure how many rugged miles were seen by the knobbly tires, but some appropriately splattered mud adds to the scene. The Scramblers look good though…

“Owver eor son! On the ‘ead!”

Fender Triumphcaster

Air Guitar – the roar of an engine or the burr of chords strummed is music to many ears. But for the devotees of both two-wheeled motion and an electric ‘axe’ then I suppose you’d better ride with same d tool across your back.

“Jump!”
