From the mining town of Ashington came there Charlton brothers, Jackie and younger Bobby. Both went on to play for upper division clubs: Leeds and Manchester United respectively, and both were on the legendary World Cup winning English squad of 1966. Jack would then go on to be the manager for Ireland who made it to the quarter finals in 1990. A legendary Geordie if ever there was one. They grew up along the doors from my Granda. Ten Years
– as GeordieBiker nears its 10 years I’ve been looking into a way of memorializing the over 3,300 posts that have accumulated over its lifetime. I had a PDF document prepared which contains all 1,707 pages of blog posts (to date). It’s nice to skim through and reminisce on past rides, or musings, or image finds.

A waning week finally meets its dusk. The morning will bring Saturday and we anticipate perfect June weather.

-We saw the spring temperatures rise into the seventies today. Riding weather is truly upon us. But, with the need to minimize trips, the two-wheeled jaunts will have to wait for now.
