Victory – we made it to the weekend again. Alas here in the Midwest the weather isn’t improving anytime soon. But Spring will be with us soon enough! These gals are enjoying the twisties along some SoCal roadway…

Geologically Speaking- midweek comes around on schedule so that means there’s a hill to negotiate. Best to use a suitable two-wheeled tool to get over it.

The Man in Black – Johnny Cash was born this day in 1932. He wrote humbling music which could pierce the coldest heart and sang with a calm but authoritative voice that sent shivers down your spine. “He walked the Line.”

If the Cap Fits – I found this Norton hat in my bikes top box at the weekend. It’s Deans sun visor he bought last year for strolling around a hot sunny bike show. I’d better get it back to him!

The Riding Dead – current season of Ride with Norman Reedus sees him reunite with TWD co-stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Andrew Lincoln to take their motorcycles from the bustle of London to a tranquil Cotswolds. On their way they stop off at the 5000 year old Neolithic site at Stonehenge. The jaunt along the cross country A303 is undertaken under rainy skies. It’s a great episode.

Pleasant Valley Sunday – after Peter Torks passing last week I’m adding this excerpt from a ’68 Monkees Monthly ‘zine that was unearthed showing drummer Mr Dolenz haring around the Hollywood Hills on his Triumph.

Jolie Jeune Femme a Vendredi – don’t let the glasses and smile deceive you! I bet this classic Triumph riding lass would stamp on yer toes; knee you in the nuts; and leave you in the dust if you much as treated her any less than a woman fully deserves to be. And I’d support her for it! #strongwomen

Monkey Magic – sadly earlier today saw the passing of another Monkee; prime goofball Peter Tork died at the age of 77. Here he is in ’67 at the height of their fame grinning big on a Honda Monkey bike.

“It’s better to burn out than to fade away.” Kurt Cobain -he would have been 52 today. Hard to think… his alternative music was evocative and inspiring for a youth in a post Thatcher/Reagan world.

Cooler King – slim chinos, cut down sweatshirt, cigarette and Persol shades: he epitomizes Cool. A Triumph TR-6 dresses up to look German hits the mark too.

But is it Art? Our feline friend finds a comfy perch to snooze the day away on. Or perhaps reckons the seat makes a decent scratching post. Nevertheless tabby complements this custom ‘flat packer’ two wheeled piece of furniture by Italian designer Joe Velluto.

65 years ago – a page in one of the periodicals of the day. The Thunderbird and Speed Twin extoll their fuel saving worthiness; especially in a Post-War Britain coming out of rationing.

T.O.M.C.C. – this months edition of the Owners Club ‘zine has an experienced Tiger on its cover amongst some wooded hills.

Fast Freyja – a new weekend is upon us and a blurring of the week just past recedes behind us. Still winter conditions her in the Midwest so on with a few small bike projects. Tool kit for Tiger being amassed.
