This Rickman framed Triumph stood out in proud orange at Ed’s shop. Next to it an immaculate pre-unit Bonneville. Both truly desirable bikes. But that repli-racer: it’s a stunner!
Ground-up concours restoration of an amaranth red Speed Twin. Sublime and worth gazing at for hours. Put it on a plinth and enjoy the artistry that was Meriden engineering at its best.
A hourglass figure as prepared on an X75 Hurricane. Craig Vetter inspired lines and color maje this much sought after machine a beauty to behold!
A Big Zed! Power in a Can… Just love this, one of the first giant slayer muscle bikes to come from the Far East. I’m going to have to build a bigger garage!

A long morning in the saddle up into Wisconsin with fair weather and a stop at Morries Place to see the British motorcycle wizard Ed Zender. Brunch at Twin Lakes WI. Bonnie’s running like tops (for the most part).

New exhaust pipe arrived today. There will be some pipe bending needed still to get it around the oil tank and rear frame tube… These homebuilt trials machines all run into fitting snags…
Nevertheless we’re onto the home stretch I believe!

Triumph Cub painting settles a ruby Cub parked in some country cottage yard. Barrel catching roof runoff caught from the distant gloomy skies downpour. Holly bush denotes ancient sacred ground or border marker. A greenhouse offers protected warmth for prize winning flowers to display at an upcoming agricultural show.
Meanwhile the cat sleeps on contentedly…

Apart from what a good motorcycle is… Looking countrified for a GQ cover here’s actor Kit Harington with a black Bonnie ready to take on The Great North Road.

Ready to take on the White Walkers..

Hot day today. Low nineties. Out and about and saw this dude. He’s decided to keep cool on his mighty ruby slipper red hog: breeze across his shoulders sure must feel good. Well if ye dinnae want te wear a leather jacket in the midday sun…. Just grow yer own! Those wee moc loafers suit his attire too…

Putting plans into action for the next Bonnie upgrade. The standard steel rims add a lot of unsparing weight to the bike and as was done in ‘the day’ I’m going to get hold of some hubs and lace ’em to alloy rims then shod the new lighter wheel with modern rubber.

I’ve relocated the screw on oil filter to a more accessible position just above the gearbox. Piping runs smoothly and keeping the precious lubricant clean is an easier task.

Everyone’s favorite Dame Helen Mirren turns 70 today. The closest image I can find of her on two-wheels is at this premier of the film Brighton Rock in 2011. The red carpet ain’t looked so good!

Hot, hot day here in the Midwest. A short ride to try a blow a waft of cool air across the back. The odd spot along the lagoons and one or two sections where Lake Michigan touches the leafy ravines offered respite.
