– a pivotal moment of the Twentieth Century when the Free World decided to take back what had been overthrown by the Nazis. Here’s a fresh faced army courier strapped into a Horsa glider, with his Matchless ride, bound for Normandy.

– a hot day pushed today’s ride into the evening when cooler temperatures would give more comfortable conditions.


– the new Triumph Trident has arrived in Chicago and have already sold out at Motoworks. I haven’t seen one in person yet, but will no doubt see one darting around the urban environment.

– another couple of images from yesterday’s trip. Following the tracks gets interrupted by the occasional train. Either a freight or the South Shore Line.

– clear and cool air followed us along the shore to Michigan. Fairly quiet roads through Lansing, Gary, New Buffalo. Brunch of pancakes, eggs ‘n’ sausage washed down with delicious coffee at Three Oaks.
