Pucker Up – this lass gives us a sly kiss for the coming weekend as she wheels along some New York City Borough. Cherry red Triumph Thruxton ensures coolness fit for her shades.
Of Ink & Skin – in the vein of a Sailor Jerry Tattoo this graphic has a rosy cheeked brunette surrounded by classic ink symbolism. Piercing daggers and forkéd tongue serpents represent the Roman god Mercury for transportation or trickery. The red rose promises new hopeful beginnings. Safe travel is borne by the wings of a bird. And Lydia, for she IS the tattooed lady, has the German Kriegsmarine cap emblazoned with the Triumph motorcycle logo for winning effect.
Cheyenne- he was a big dude with mellow baritone voice and perfectly cast as Cheyenne Bodie for 8 seasons back in the late fifties. Clint Walker, who passed away a couple of days ago at the sturdy age of 90. enjoyed riding, either equine or moto. Here he makes his BSA B40 single look like a pony on the trail. That’s Andra Martin who portrayed an Arapaho captive in another Clint Walker movie Yellowstone Kelly, about an Indian tracker.
Mountain View – taking your gal on an alpine tour behind the controls of a Speed Twin is good as it could get according to this advertising illustration from the fifties. The yellow frock doesn’t seem like suitable attire for high altitude pass cresting. Of course the Amaranth Red is picture perfect for the sublime scenery.
Denim – on this day in 1873 businessman Levi Strauss and tailor Jacob Davis took out a patent for heavy canvas work trousers. Utilizing copper rivers at stressed corners and an indigo dye for color the modern jeans were born. Though not the best for heavier riding at higher speeds, the sturdiness of a good pair of ‘Levi’s’ are both comfortable and cool. Roll up the lower leg turnips, wear a suitable denim jacket, blonde roper gloves, engineer boots and a puddin’ bowl lid and head out on the roads looking VERY James Dean. Blue Jeans are a symbol of the Working Man; the counterculture hippy,m; a grunge rocker; and the low-rise sagging apparel of skaters or hip-hop. They are a cry from the norm, a symbol of the rejection of the values of mainstream society. Rebellion!
TRW – the side valve developed by Triumph for the war effort in ’42. Here’s a lass in suitable attire ready to look for some pastoral country lane to zip along. Very stylish she looks to along with the forest green bike.
Hump Day – leaping through the mid-week apogee we feel the coming weekend is so close we can nearly touch it! This airborne lad with his Union Flag lid crouches in anticipation to a flying landing. Big Triumph Speed Triple will ensure good footing upon alight.
The Mother Road – beautiful crisp graphic art by Antonio Ortega showing a MotoGirl sitting recumbent on her speeding triple. A lucky cat sits contentedly at pillion. All is Good in the World.
Uphill – This lady kills in roadworthy leathers and boots; hair color with attitude; and a clean Triumph Scrambler. Parked on one of the less steep streets of San Francisco – gotta make sure it’s parked pointing uphill ideally with the rear tire against a curb. Nice composition.

Beach Body – surf breaks along a sun-kissed sandy coastline whilst a one-piece swimsuited gal poses coyly astride a pre-unit Triumph sled.
Brighton 1964 – if you were there you were either a Mod or a Rocker. The scene to bee seen along the seafront of Kings Road. This smart chap has a leopardskin seat cover on his faired Triumph Cub whilst some other clean-cut youths gaze on. Horror films on show for period entertainment though the daily lifestyle of these two iconic subcultures were heady enough. Great photo though!
Dr Jekyll – the beast within. Specialist motorcycle performance component guru Norman Hyde has a solid history in making Triumph run quicker and faster. Under the tutelage of Doug Hele at the Triumph Racing Development Department he cut his teeth on making Bonneville’s and Tridents go like the clappers. Records were made on the drag strips with his meticulously engineered machines. Norman looks rather dapper in his weskit & jaiket astride a newer Bonneville for which he’s developed many performance parts.
My Bonneville has Norman Hyde rearsets and clubman handlebars… well, I think it goes quicker…
Black Bike – low seat, aped bars, hard tail, straight pipes… we’re talkin’ ATTITUDE! Don’t mess with this sister; she’ll chew ya up and spit you out so much as glower at you. Ebony chopper matches her black tank top and bandanna.
