Senna | A quarter of a century ago today we lost one of the greats: Ayrton Senna fatally crashed his Formula One car at the San Marino Grand Prix in Imola, Italy. Let’s enjoy this simple image of him getting the shopping in at Monaco on his moped. The distinctive helmet is an icon of the racing world, his racing record up to his untimely death unparalleled. A record six victories at the Monte Carlo circuit is still unbeaten. His native Brazil consider him a national hero.

Roadside Maintenance | Three biker gals take care of a Bonnie needing a little attention to keep it roadworthy. Those knee high boots are serious attire befitting these badass women.

Marmalade | Ongoing tweaking and fettling of the old Bonnie saw fruition today. New headlight and front indicators working; standard pegs and ‘normal’ bars will get me back on the road vintage style in no time. Kicked over and purred along nicely.

Tetsujin Tiger Seven
(鉄人タイガーセブン Tetsujin Taigā Sebun)
From Wikipedia:
Takigawa Go gets the power to transform into Tetsujin Tiger Seven from an artificial heart and a magic pendant. To transform, he utters the henshin (transformation) phrase “Tiger Spark”. Go rides a Suzuki motorcycle with rocket boosters. When he transforms into Tiger Seven, the motorcycle transforms as well to become “Spike Go”. Spike Go can drive itself, coming to its master’s aid when Tiger 7 roars.
Here’s the opening credits https: TigerSeven

Caff Lass | Amazing evocative image by talented photographer Nick Clemente. Frilly edged Lewis Leathers biker apparel is pure sixties on this Edie Sedgwick lookalike. The Ford Anglia parked in the backdrop is a perfect touch.

Vanishing Point | One more photo from the weekend. Clear roads and budding trees under a hazy spring sky. A pleasant perch indeed when haring along.

‘ump Day | ‘bike is parked up; pyramid tent erected; Primus stove lit and brew on the go; time to light up and perch my’sen on this crag edge. Look up magazine advertisements for Camel Lights “It’s a whole new world” and you’ll see this adventurer getting up to all sorts in the wild corners of the world – whilst making sure his tabs are close at hand…

Countryside Pleasures | What better way to enjoy touring on a motorcycle than to end the day at a campsite in a wooded clearing by a babbling stream. Boil some water for tea and listen to the chirruping birds as they roost for the night. Then the stars come out in their bedazzle across the inky heavens.

Earth Day | What better way to go out there and explore what our planet has to offer and see how beautifully fragile our home rally is than on the back of a Tiger. For nearly a Century there have been sharp clawed Moto’s roaming the globe looking for earthly adventure.

Lumber Company | a warm sunny Easter Sunday and after a tasty brunch at a local jazz bar “Le Piano” I grabbed the Tiger keys and went to enjoy the spring weather. Back roads past egg hunts, and key North Shore routes along the Lake brought me past this warehouse I have kept meaning to get a photo of. The yellow looks sunny under the clear blue sky.

bauhaus 100 | 2019 is the centenary of the formation of the influential German design school based in Weimar and later Dessau. As well as founder Walter Gropius and later directors Hannes Meyer and Mies Van der Rohe there were numerous staff and students who were allowed to develop creative talent in the manufacturing arts – .Gesamtkunstwerk (Total work of Art ). Here’s one such alumni Heinrich Brocksieper, who worked on photography, painting and animation, enjoying great German motorrad engineering of the day in front of the workshop block at the Dessau building.

Soixante Quinze | More Gendarmerie Nationale Motorcycle police from the fifties. The uniform is very formal from the shin high leather riding boots, jodhpurs, tunic jacket, white Sam Browne holster belt, shoulder aiguillettes, and white gauntlet gloves. Quite the appearance. White wall tyre’d Triumph Thunderbird complete the look.
