Sons of the Desert: nope not a Laurel & Hardy adventure; but a jaunt across rutted, scrub patched scorched back country in SoCal or Baja. Knobbly tires shod on a tough old purely functional sled. Looks like way too much fun!

David,
I don’t quite know what happened here, but Oli and Stan didn’t appear on my screen.. what ended up here was a double of the bike shot.. any thoughts..?
The 2 boys on the bikes have clearly just pulled the bikes out of the back of the pick-up and haven’t started yet. They are naced [knackered !] hence the weary look and the need for a drink.. naced !
The bikes are fab !! I love the side-pipes and the sump-guard.. they look soooo fit. Put on street tyres and they’d make a great road bike. As I recall, we didn’t get USA spec Tr’s here.. tho’ I have seen stuff at classic bike shows.. glorious really. Just LOOOOVE those pipes.
When you think what the old Triumph Co had in the palm of their hand throughout the 50’s into the 70’s, especially in the USA.. Today, apparently the world and his wife have given up sportsbikes and bought their BMW GS’s.. the today world’s biggest seller. Tho’ why would anybody want a whizzbang Jap rocket or Italian stallion when they could have these..beats me?
Sadly, Triumph were held back by the very man who designed the 1930’s improved singles and the new twin.. without a doubt his behaviour, his arrogance, his position on the board and on that of the governing BSA board, his denial of investment in case it should disturb his precious twins. And on and on and on and.. you know.
I’m sure he didn’t mean to, but that man destroyed the very thing he’d helped build. Bugger eh..

D,
ps.. did you get my lake district photo’s from this Sunday past..?
I sorted them out, deleted some and stood them all up straight.. and pressed send. When I looked at the sent results, the deletes were still there and the others had in them, slipped sideways.. bugger !
Do let me know. Oh, and the small person is my Amanda, whom my dutch pal insists on calling Samantha..?
Regards again

Hello there! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from
an established blog. Is it tough to set up your own blog?I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking about making
my own but I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Thank you
